Copyright, Plagiarism, and Fair Use

Definitions

Copyright: the unauthorized use of copyrighted material in a manner that violates the owener's rights, such as the right to reproduce. Copyright infringement is against the law.

Plagiarism: the use of another's information, language, or writing when done without proper acknowledgment of the original source.

Fair Use: is the legal area that refers to the exceptions to the rights of copyright holders and allows for limited use of the copyrighted material.
